Canon

Canon is any information, facts, and/or statements that are part of the official history of a fictional franchise. Its opposite is fanon, fan-made history that is not endorsed or acknowledged by a series' creator.

Canon is not limited to the information that appears in novels, anime or manga; it can also include data found profiles in official books and magazines, or comments from the creators during interviews.
