Our English patch for the Superfamicom (SFC/SNES) version of the Slayers RPG is 100% completed. More information is available at Matt's Messy Room http://projects.mattsmessyroom.com/slayers/ and Dynamic Designs http://www.dynamic-designs.us/.
The storyline of this classic turn-based role playing game is based on a Japanese anime and novel series. Our English patch, the culmination of a decade of effort by many groups and individuals, was completed and released in 2010.
The lead translator and project coordinator was filler. Bongo` completed the assembly recoding and designed the insertion tools; and Wildbill and filler collaborated to polish the English story. Early work by filler, Robert Boyd, and the late ChrisRPG advanced the prototype English patch to a level that inspired Bongo` to tackle the remaining, most difficult technical issues.
Matt's Messy Room and Dynamic Designs dedicated the completed English Slayers patch to Eien ni Hen, who contributed segments of this translation and has given so much to the translation community over the years.
This sample extends through the entire introduction, from power-up to the first encounter with Minna the Save Girl in the Goblin Pit, shortly after the game allows a player to take control of the main character.
Our English patch contains all original material for which we hold the intellectual property rights. Nothing from the Japanese Banpresto game itself has been incorporated inside our patch. Moreover, we are sharing our English patch with gamers free of charge. Beware of people who are using our copyrighted work in order to produce and sell game carts for profit. Using an SNES emulator on your PC will allow you to patch your backed up image of a Japanese Slayers cart you legally own and play the game in English.
