The Five Great Sages of the Present Age (Japanese: 近代きんだいの五大ごだい賢者けんじゃ Romaji: kindai no go dai kenja; abbreviated as the Five Great Sages, translated as the Five Wise Men of the Age in the dub by Central Park Media) are a group of some of the most powerful human individuals known to the general populace in the Slayers world. This is the only reason they are mentioned together; there are no details about them having anything in common except power and fame. The only one of the five known to be still alive is Luo Graon.^[1]

Two members of the group are known currently:

• Rezo the Red Priest (deceased during the course of the Slayers series)^[2][3]
• Luo Graon (known to be alive)^[4]

Two, similarly powerful individuals are claimed to belong to this group, but official material does not list them as such:

• Lei Magnus (inactive, frozen in ice - he is mentioned as a "legendary great sage" instead)^[5][6]
• Shazard Lugandy^[7]
